While on vacation in Tenn. I purchased a "hybrid" (T-bars, big seat, 27 speeds). After 5 weeks of sore knees and not being able to keep up with the group I was riding with, I decided to try out a road bike. 5 minutes on the Ruby and I was instantly transported to cycling heaven! It has increased my endurance and ability just by the way it handles!! It changed my average ride of 8 miles to 20! At the "young" age of 59, I look forward to many years of cycling pleasure with Ruby. I love it and look forward to every ride!
I upgraded to the Ruby a few months ago and I've loved every moment. This is my first woman-specific bike, and I'm amazed at the difference in comfort level. The Ruby is light and responsive, and the Shimano drivetrain shifts like butter. I wasn't too sure about getting a compact double instead of a triple, since I live where it's hilly, but it's been fine. The few times I've had to walk up a hill has been due to my own fitness level and not the bike. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to hit the road, put on a lot of miles, and have a great time doing it!
